Section 50
Eligibility of Director
Any of the following persons shall be disqualified from being elected or nominated to the office of Director:-
(a) not having completed 25 years of age,
(b) Being unable to serve as a director due to physical or mental infirmity,
(c) In the case of marriage in accordance with prevailing law: existing,
(d) Not having completed three years from the date of release from the blacklist according to the prevailing law,
(e) Incumbent director or employee who is a director of an insurer or a bank and financial institution or any type of deposit collecting organization or who holds the basic shares of the founding group of any other insurer,
(f) Incumbent auditors or consultants of the relevant insurer or persons or organizations, firms and companies who are shareholders in any kind of contract lease with the insurer or have private interests, (g) have obtained membership of the securities market to act as securities traders or merchant bankers,
(h) holding the position of director of other insurers,
(i) Disqualified as per the Insurer's Regulations for being a director due to share ownership,
(h) Failure to hold the minimum shareholding required to be a director,
(k) Holding a public position or an existing employee of the Government of Nepal or an institution, authority, board, insurer or bank or financial institution owned by the Government of Nepal or an institution owned by the Government of Nepal, but a different type of shares purchased by the Government of Nepal, a State Government or an institution owned by the Government of Nepal or an insurer. (l) Non-payment of tax due as per prevailing law,
